One Month with CRG — “Where It Goes, I Don’t Know”

ree

A month ago, I made a simple decision: to show up and run. I didn’t know exactly what I was signing up for, nor did I expect the transformation that would follow. But today, I can say with certainty—joining CRG (the running group) has been one of the most enriching experiences of my life so far.

CRG isn’t just a running group. It’s a circle of encouragement, discipline, and silent determination. It’s a space where people from different walks of life come together—not just to improve their speed or stamina, but to embrace something bigger: a commitment to bettering themselves, one stride at a time.

In these thirty days, I have covered distances that go beyond kilometres. I’ve learned to push my limits, to listen to my body, and to respect the process. The early mornings, the aching muscles, and even the days of self-doubt have all contributed to building not just a stronger runner, but a more focused individual.

I entered CRG as a beginner—not just in running, but in understanding what consistency truly means. I used to think motivation was enough. But over time, I realized that discipline carries you when motivation fades. Waking up before sunrise, showing up even when it’s tough, and running when your legs want to stop—this is where the real growth lies. It’s not always glamorous, but it is always worth it.

Gratitude for the Guiding Lights

None of this would have been possible without the incredible individuals who have been part of this journey—those who stood as pillars of strength and inspiration throughout the month.

  • To RK Sir – Your quiet strength, your consistency, and your unwavering presence have set a benchmark. Watching you lead with humility and heart has been one of the most powerful motivators. You may not speak much during the run, but your footsteps and determination speak volumes. Thank you for being the kind of leader who inspires by example.

  • To Siddharth Sir and Jigar Sir – Your energy, encouragement, and structured guidance have shaped my journey more than I can put into words. You always know when to push and when to pull back. You’ve taught me that running is as much about mindset as it is about physical endurance.

  • To Baba – Your presence is like a calm wind that never fails to lift others. Your support has made even the toughest mornings feel lighter. You remind us that joy and discipline can co-exist. Thank you for your words, your energy, and your ever-welcoming spirit. You’ve made this journey warmer and more human. Literally “Age Is Just a Number.”

Where It Goes, I Don’t Know…

The beauty of this journey is that it’s not about knowing the destination. It’s about learning to enjoy the process. Every day is a new chance to explore a different version of yourself. Some days, you run for joy. Some days, you run for mental clarity. And on the hardest days, you run just to prove to yourself that you can.

There’s something deeply poetic about running—it strips away everything superficial. No titles, no roles, no comparisons. Just you, your breath, the road, and the will to keep moving forward.

In a world obsessed with speed and outcomes, CRG taught me the value of showing up. Whether you’re the fastest runner or the slowest jogger, what matters is that you’re moving—with intention, with heart, and with consistency.

Reflections in Grammar and Spirit

In grammatical terms, running has taught me the power of the present continuous tense—we are always becoming, always evolving. There’s no final full stop here. It’s all commas and semicolons—pauses that allow us to breathe, reflect, and continue.

It has also reminded me of the imperative mood—commands like “Go,” “Push,” “Breathe,” and “Finish strong” are not just instructions. They are affirmations. They are reminders that the power to act lies within us.

And perhaps, most importantly, running aligns perfectly with the future perfect tense: By this time next month, I will have become better.

That’s the promise of CRG. That’s the promise of consistent effort.

The Road Ahead

One month down, and many more to go. I don’t know exactly where this road leads. But I’m no longer worried about the destination. I’ve learned that as long as I keep showing up—with my shoes tied and my heart open—I’ll continue to grow.

To everyone who’s part of CRG—whether you’re a beginner like I was, or a seasoned runner lighting the way—thank you for sharing the road, the energy, and the purpose. This is more than fitness. It’s a journey of self-discovery, shaped by resilience and rooted in community.

So, here’s to every sunrise run, every shared smile, every drop of sweat, and every unexpected lesson on the track. I started with the question: “Where it goes, I don’t know.” But now, I realize—as long as I’m running with CRG, I’m already going somewhere beautiful.
